Author Amber J. Keyser to Pen Novel
Author Amber J. Keyser has signed on to pen the first young adult novel based on the Angel Punk universe!
“Mara is the action-adventure heroine I’ve been waiting my whole life to write. She’s brash, impulsive, and far more powerful than she knows,” said Keyser. “Her story unfolds in a rich, mythic universe with a sharp, modern edge. I can tell already that being a part of the Angel Punk creative team will be a mind-blowing, wild ride!”
Amber is a former ballerina and evolutionary biologist, who now writes about science and adventure for young readers. She is represented by Stephen Fraser at the Jennifer de Chiara Literary Agency. Her books include An Algonquin Heart Song: Paddle My Own Canoe (2007), two graphic novels about science, The Basics of Cell Life with Max Axiom (2010) and Decoding Genes with Max Axiom (2010), and Anatomy of a Pandemic (2011). Her articles have appeared in Odyssey Magazine, Mothering Magazine online, CommonSenseMedia.org, and Globio.org.
“Amber gets our protagonist, Mara Layil and we are excited to have her on board to bring Mara’s voice to life in the novel,” said Kevin Curry, CEO of Relium Media and co-writer on the film script and comic series. “Amber is a great writer and understands the fantasy genre and young adult marketplace. Plus, she’s a legitimate ‘Fangirl’. She’s the perfect fit.”
